Not a single day passes without hearing the word ‘cholesterol’.  It is worthy to note that cholesterol is present in the animal cells and in the body fluids. Cholesterol is a type of lipid and is a soft waxy substance. Cholesterol in us is of 2 types namely LDL or low density lipoprotein and HDL or high density lipoprotein. Many of us are aware of the fact that high levels of LDL could result in plaque build up in the arteries. Finally this could result in heart disease in us. There are few natural cholesterol reducers that could play important role in regulating the cholesterol levels in us.

Various natural cholesterol reducers that are highly effective are

There are few non vegetarian foods like turkey, chicken breasts, tuna fish that contains niacin. Vegetarian foods like green peas, peanuts etc are rich in niacin. Niacin is an organic compound and also a form of vitamin B3 is known. Intake of niacin based foods could maximise good cholesterol and minimize triglyceride that could cause clogging of arteries.

Intake of garlic:

Garlic is used to make many dishes and it gives unique flavour is known fact. Intake of garlic in raw or in the form of dishes could help in increasing in HDL cholesterol.

Red yeast rice:

White rice fermented with yeast is red yeast rice and the country of China is the world’s largest producer of this red yeast rice. Lovastatin is a cholesterol reducing medicine and this red yeast rice has got the same chemical make up like lovastatin. Intake of this red yeast rice would lower our cholesterol levels.
