Nutritious food items to be eaten raw

Eating certain food items in the raw form as they are is the best way to get the maximum benefits of all nutrients contained.
 
Broccoli: By eating raw broccoli, an enzyme called Myrosynase, an ingredient in broccoli, helps remove carcinogens which cause liver cancer. Please note the enzyme is rendered ineffective if broccoli is boiled and taken. Hence, get into the habit of munching raw broccoli now and then.
 
Garlic: When eating raw garlic, a chemical compound called  Allicin  protects the DNA. However, even by boiling garlic for a single minute, this compound allicin is rendered ineffective. So, please start chewing 1 garlic raw every day!
 
Coconut: Eating a small piece of raw coconut daily helps the functioning of heart and brain by dissolving all the good and bad fats contained in them.
 
Seeds: Seeds like flax seeds and pumpkin seeds are rich in protein and zinc. They strengthen the body resistance system to diseases. The important point to note is that these ingredients are present only when eating the seeds in raw form. Hence, sprinkle a liberal bit of flax seeds and pumpkin seeds in your salad bowl, mix well and eat!
 
Greens: By eating greens such as lettuce or cabbage in the raw form, we can get Vitamin C, Vitamin E, fibre, enzymes, and amino-acids.
 
Sprouts: Sprouted grains contain phytonutirents and chlorophyll. These ingredients function like anti-oxidants and protect the body.
