Mercury Goes Up – Chennai Endures Heat in the Early Hours

Posted on: 27/Jan/2014 11:47:33 AM

Chennai endures maximum temperature of 30.1C on Thursday. Even though it is depicted as ‘close to normal’, but the travelers reported it as quite hot. All through the entire month the temperature was 29C to 30C, with the exception on January 5 which had 28C.

This high temperature is because of the mounting radiation and the consequential moisture, stated by the Meteorological department officials. Indian Meteorological System predicted that, the reason for high temperature may range from cloud cover up which has been predominant in a few areas for the past few days which failed to fetch rain.

The low pressure that had shaped off the Sri Lankan coast at the instigation of the month was alleged to fetch some rain to the state. Yet, there was only tinge rainfall and the system ended up elevating the wetness.

A weather blogger reports that, the main reason for the hot temperature is that the cloud covers many parts of the city which prevents the radiation from going out. In continuation, it is not possible to judge the situation, how hot it will be in future days. When compared to last year, the low minimum temperatures had kept the heat down.
