Sudden increase in the new COVID cases near Chennai - Guess where?

In the last 24 hours, the Union Territory of Pondicherry saw a sudden spike in the number of fresh Coronavirus positive cases. As many as 120 persons have tested positive for the infection here.
On Wednesday, there were just 58 new Covid-19 cases but the numbers increased to 120 in the last 24 hours that ended at 10am on Thursday. As many as1479 samples were tested.
Out of 120 fresh or new Covid-19 cases as many as83 cases were from Puducherry and the 33 cases were from Karaikal and 4 new cases from Yanam. This was as per the director of health Mr. G. Sriramulu.
The number of deaths here till now is 1970 and there was no fresh deaths in the last 24 hours. He added that there were 405 active cases with 390 patients in home quarantine and 15 undergoing treatment in the hospitals.
Out of a total of 2391800 samples examined by the health department, 2026668 samples were found to be negative.
