What is happening suddenly to the booster vaccination shots in Chennai?

People now are not showing that much enthusiasm in getting administered with Covid booster vaccination shots. This was mentioned by some health officials. There are both types of vaccination doses available at paid private vaccination centres but the response has been lukewarm.
Now, the Covid cases have reduced well and this has caused many people not to get vaccinated. Truth is that only those persons who are travelling abroad for various reasons and if the country’s they are travelling demand compulsory booster vaccination, then only the people show interest t get vaccinated. According to a medical officer belonging to a private hospital in Alwarpet, younger adults with comorbidities would be encouraged to get vaccinated.
There is also another reason why people don’t show interest in getting vaccinated now. The withdrawal of notification of compulsory vaccination in the public places has been responsible for reduction in the vaccination numbers. This was according to some authorities belonging to Nungambakkam based hospital. Infectious diseases experts at a private vaccination centre in Nungambakkam explained that the public spaces have opened up and it is only voluntary to get vaccinated with the booster dose. The number of Covid-19 cases has been increasing suddenly now in a few states. This must be considered seriously. He concluded that vaccination was the only solution available to fight against another variant.
Elder persons, those with comorbidities, frontline workers and healthcare workers have been administered with vaccination doses as these people have got huge risk of getting affected by the infection.
State immunisation officer, DPH, Dr. Vinay Kumar explained that since the Covid-19 cases have reduced the people have been thinking that the pandemic has ended. He shed light on the fact that CO WIN portal was managed by the Union government and how there was no access to the exact number of precautionary doses and vaccines administered till now.
