Police Department announcement: Porur-Gumananchavadi traffic diversion extended for Metro Rail Project work!

The Police Department has announced that the prevailing traffic diversion arrangement at the section Porur- Gumanchavadi will be extended for another 2 months as the Metro Rail Project is in progress.

In a notification released by the Avadi Police Department in this regard, it is mentioned:

“Due to the Metro Rail Project Phase-2, traffic diversion was carried out last month in the section  Porur Lake Siva Temple Junction to Gumananchavadi Junction where light commercial vehicles like car, jeep, auto, and bikes and scooters were allowed to operated and Heavy Commercial Vehicles such as vans, trucks, buses, and commercial vehicles were to take another route. – with ambulances alone being exempted

It is mandatory for the Heavy commercial vehicles and other commercial vehicles proceeding from Porur to Poonamallee and Gumananchavadi Junction have to turn right at this road and proceed via Maduravoyal tollgate, Bypass Junction, Poonamallee High Road, Vaanagaram, Velappanchavadi, ACS Medical College, Saveetha Dental College,  and then turn left to proceed via Gumananchavadi Junction.

The vehicles proceeding from Chennai Poonamallee, Mangadu, Saveetha Dental Hospital towards Mount Poonamallee High Road and the commercial heavy-duty vehicles must turn at Gumananchavadi Junction and proceed to Poonamallee High Road, and move via Saveetha Dental Hospital, ACS Medical College, Velappanchavadi and Vaanagaram to Maduravoyal Bypass Road and turn left near tollgate, and to proceed to Porur via Samayapuram.

Presently, this traffic diversion is extended from 25th March until 19th May for 2 months from 11.00 PM to 5.00 AM.

The Public has to extend their full cooperation for this.
