Posted on: 28/Oct/2020 9:07:50 AM
By 29th of October, a low pressure is likely to form over east central Bay of Bengal. This would result in thunderstorms and moderate rains for the next 48 hours in the Chennai city. This was according to some weather experts. In the upcoming days, the southern parts of TN would also receive good rains.

According to Mr. N. Puviarasan, director, RMC, Chennai, the condition of the sky in Chennai and its surrounding places are likely to be cloudy in the next 48 hours. There would be light rains in some places. He added that thunderstorms with light to moderate rains are likely to occur in TN.

There would be moderate rains and thunderstorms in districts such as Virudhunagar, Theni, Tenkasi, Tirunelveli and Kanniyakumari etc. For the next 5 days, the state of TN would get moderate amounts of rains. The coastal areas would get rains in the nights and in the early mornings. The interior areas in TN would receive rains in the evenings.

It was brought out by weather blogger Mr. Pradeep John that one end of the circulation is converging with the winds from west due to the upper air circulation in Bay of Bengal. He mentioned that the wind direction was somewhat north to south with a slight tilt to the east.

Information is that southern TN would be more beneficial in getting convergence and there would be nothing from west in north TN for creating convergence. In Chennai, skies would be cloudy and the temperature would be between 32 degrees Celsius and 25 degrees Celsius.
