Why are more active Corona cases reported from Thiru Vi-Ka-Nagar zone again?

Thiru Vi- Ka-Nagar zone belonging to the central region of GCC has been making many heads turn now for this reason. This zone has been witnessing an increase in the number of active Covid-19 cases and this has been the cause for concern of the civic body.
There are more than 1000 cases in this zone and this was as per the data released by the Chennai Corporation. Information is on 26th August this zone had 1008 active cases, 10% of the total 8699 Coronavirus positive cases reported from the zone.
It must not be forgotten that n 16th August this zone had just 689 active cases and the total number of positive cases reported was8177. Zones like Adyar, Valasaravakkam, Kodambakkam and Anna Nagar also have more than 1000 active cases.
On both 16th August and on 26th August, the overall active percentage remained at 10% in Chennai city. It was mentioned by a field level officer that the testing has been increased in Thiru Vi- Ka- Nagar zone.
Truth is more than 500 samples have been tested in this zone. This has resulted in more active cases here. He stated that the workload has come down now than in the past due to a lesser number of cases.
To prevent further spread of the infection, the officials in the divisions are testing all the contacts of the infected persons. For the purpose of reviewing Covid-19 control measures in the above said 5 zones of GCC, Mr. G. Prakash, Chennai Corporation commissioner held a meeting with the monitoring officials of these zones.
