Now, more COVID cases are reported from Mogappair

Ambattur zone residents might feel shocked by this piece of information. This zone has now got the most positive cases in Chennai. Information is one third of total reported Corona cases were reported in the last 16 days here.
It must be taken into account that Mogappair remains a major hotspot with more number of positive cases. Shops present on the Padikuppam Main Road, Pari Salai and Bazaar Road function above 9pm in the evening and this has created fears regarding new clysters emerging.
Ever since the lockdown was eased, there has been n social distancing at the fish market and in the meat shops. This was revealed by a resident of Mogappair. He pointed out that the officials were taking it easy and door-to-door surveillance was also not present.
Since 8th may 2020, there were just 2014 fever camps and 20 a day in the months of June and July. Around 600 participants were only there in these camps. In Anna Nagar and Kodambakkam zones held 30 to 40 camps with almost 4000 participants every day. Absence of Inter-departmental coordination has been cited as the main reason.
As per an official of GCC, it was clear that Anna Nagar and Kodambakkam zones had more number of sanitary officers than the Ambattur zone. Meetings and inspections were not held every day.
According to Dr. P. Ganeshkumar, scientist ICMR-NIE, it was normal to have more cases coming up in those areas that were unaffected during the pandemic. Truth is in the months of April and May Ambattur zone was at the bottom.
