New 4 symptoms for COVID infection identified now

Now, more layers have been added to the surveillance process of the Greater Chennai Corporation or GCC. The residents are being tracked for 4 new symptoms of Covid-19 infection now.
It is known that in Chennai city the number of Coronavirus active cases has been decreasing and every day less than 1000 fresh cases get reported. In the past, those who had cold, cough, fever, and sore throat were monitored every day.
At present, those persons who have headaches, body pain, lack of smell or taste, vomiting, etc are getting tested for Covid-19 infection immediately.
It has been pointed out by some officials belonging to GCC that this has been carried out mainly to reduce the number of deaths in Chennai city.
Wheezing issues in senior citizens would be considered seriously and these elder persons would be taken immediately to the hospitals. From the private offices or companies, more than 100 samples are being taken for testing every day.
The GCC official later mentioned that though the number of fresh Coronavirus cases has reduced in Chennai in the last 6 days the number of deaths hasn’t reduced. Persons who are most vulnerable to the infection are getting identified early now.
He highlighted that even if one person tests positive for Covid-19 infection then everyone in that company gets tested for the infection. Last week in Guindy, about 115 samples were taken from a private company and 5 tested positive for Coronavirus infection.
Mr. Madhusudhan Reddy, joint commissioner, pointed out about the walk-in centers that have been set up in the mobile vans for the sake of the public. As many as 10 mobile vans have been collecting samples from the persons from all the zones of GCC. He hinted that private clinics in Chennai have been allowed to refer symptomatic cases to the GCC testing centers.
