Online: The grand festival of Aadi Kiruthigai in Tiruthani

The somewhat depressing news is that the devotees will not be allowed to the three-day Aadi Kiruthigai Theppam festival in Tiruthani, one of the six abodes of Lord Muruga. Quite depressingly, this is the 1st ever time history!
Relief: However, as a minor relief, the event will be aired live on the Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments department’s website and on YouTube channel youtu.be/zCWfy8sfxxmk
Tradition: Aadi Kiruthigai is the biggest annual event of the Arulmigu Subramanya Swamy temple here in Tiruthani. As a tradition, the festival attracts lakhs of devotees from various parts of the country to this place. Most of the devotees would carry ‘kavadis’ to the Almighty.
This year’s festival (coronavirus pandemic): However, due to the Covid-19 pandemic this year, devotees are not being allowed to the temple and to the float festival. As a relief, all the events will be aired live!
