Doctors and health workers in Chennai now brought much closer due to Coronavirus pandemic

These days, we could come across many doctors making calls or video calls to their friends, juniors etc through WhatsApp buddy groups to check about their health etc.

The Coronavirus pandemic has broken the barriers and has made the medical professionals to come closer. This would not have happened in the normal situation. It must be noted that ever since the Coronavirus pandemic began in Chennai city the doctors and other health workers in Chennai have been finding ways to help each other and to cope with the crisis.

As per a senior nurse, it was very clear that when the first lockdown was imposed many were stressed and overburdened. She added that after a few days the need to have a healthy atmosphere was on the minds of many. It was then efforts were taken to bring about the change.

It is important to mention that every day the nurses spent close to 15 minutes to share their thoughts about the Coronavirus pandemic either on campus or on WhatsApp groups. Many medical professionals felt better when they communicated with others. There were also separate rooms created in some hospitals where the doctors, nurses and others would sit and talk.

According to Dr. N. Ramakrishnan, Apollo Hospitals, taking regular breaks from routine work was important. He explained how the Covid-19 brought various doctors, others together. He concluded that many doctors had WhatsApp groups and they discussed about films, music etc for relaxation sake. Kauvery Hospital based Dr. Yamini Kannappan spoke about the importance of social connectedness during a pandemic.
