Soon, 400 more beds for the Corona virus patients to be there in SMCH Chennai

With more number of Corona virus positive cases getting reported from the zones like Royapuram Tondiarpet etc, the old block of Stanley Medical College Hospital or SMCH in north Chennai is getting readied to have 400 more beds for the treatment of Corona virus patients. When this gets completed then this important hospital would totally have as many as 900 beds especially for the treatment of Corona virus patients.
It was pointed out by the state health minister Mr. C. Vijayabhaskar that the facilities in all the medical college hospitals plus in the district headquarters hospitals, in taluk hospitals in districts such as Perambalur, Ariyalur, Cuddalore, Kancheepuram, Chengalpet and Tiruvallur etc would be increased.
He spoke about how at the PHC’s bed facilities as well as oxygen provision etc has been getting ready for the patients. For the purpose of 400 bed facility at SMCH, PWD has taken up the work on priority.
