TN government taking steps to keep Corona virus fatalities down

On Thursday, 28th May 2020, the state of TN witnessed 12 deaths due to Corona virus infection.

It must be noted that these 12 deaths were the highest single day Corona virus toll ever recorded in TN. There were as many as 827 fresh positive cases yesterday in TN and persons coming from other states by trains or air have also contributed to new cases. The city of Chennai had 559 fresh Corona virus cases.

It was later explained by Mr. C. Vijayabhaskar, state health minister that people must wear face masks, maintain social distancing and not to politicise the pandemic. 

Point is doctors and nurses in the government hospitals have been working day in and day out to keep the deaths low and recoveries high. The mortality rate of TN is 0.7 percent and the recovery rate was more than 50 percent after as many as 639 persons got discharged on Thursday. In TN, the total number of persons who get cures stands now at 10584.

Important information collected is in many hospitals in this scorching heat many doctors and nurses work tirelessly for 6 to 7 hours straight to help and save many lives of the Covid-19 patients.

The state health minister compared the fatality rate of TN with fatality rates in countries like France and Italy and said the TN state has succeeded in keeping the standards high. He shed light on the difficulties of the government doctors when patients get referred from the private hospitals.

For the purpose of meeting the surge predicted by the scientists and by public health researchers, TN is ramping up human resources and medical infrastructure at the hospitals. On Thursday, 12 persons passed away and 6 of them died just within 48 hours of admission. As many as 8676 persons are still undergoing treatment.
