Greater Chennai Corporation: passengers from special train kept isolated!

The Greater Chennai Corporation (GCC) has informed that all the passengers who arrived in Chennai from Delhi on a special train have been kept in isolation for 14 days as a precautionary activity.

As a preventive measure against the raging coronavirus pandemic spreading, trains have been blocked from 25th March.

Because of this, the workers who work in other states and the tourists have been stranded and in order to bring them back to their native states, special trains have been arranged.

797 passengers arrived in Chennai from Delhi on a special train on 14th May. All these passengers have been tested and isolated.

In a similar arrangement, another 757 passengers arrived at Chennai Central Station from Delhi on another special train on 16th May. These passengers were tested through thermal scanning.

Subsequently, lodging arrangements have been made for those passengers who have paid in a private lodged arranged by Greater Chennai Corporation.

629 passengers who were interested in free boarding have been asked to stay in the Tamil Nadu State Government organized camps.

Corona tests are being undertaken for all the above passengers. GCC has informed that all these passengers have been kept isolated for 14 days as a precautionary activity.

The passengers who had paid money to stay in private lodging arranged by GCC were taken there through buses arranged by GCC.
