For the class 10 public examinations that would be held from 1st June till 12th June, more than 9 lakhs students would be appearing in TN. It has been brought to light by a senior official belonging to Directorate of School Education that it was compulsory for the students who appear for the class 10 public exams at various examination centres to wear face masks to avoid spreading Covid-19.

He explained about how the face masks would not be issued by the government at the exam centres and how the students must bring their own face masks.

Around 3.5 lakhs students from government schools in TN would be appearing for the class 10 public examinations and it is now said that the authorities would not be in a position to issue free face masks to these government school students.

Important information collected is for the sake of supplying face masks to the students studying in the state run schools, the SED has to buy minimum 15 lakhs face masks to be given on a daily basis for the atleast 5 exam dates. The senior official later spoke about how providing hand sanitizers at the entrance of the examination centre to each student would be very tough. He assured that there would be soap and water facility at the examination centres for hand wash.

It was revealed by the school education minister, Mr. K. A. Sengottaiyan, on Thursday that the government would issue a statement on 19th May regarding the efforts taken to resolve transportation issues for the class 10 students.
