Deadline for annual / quarterly motor tax payment extended till 30th June now

On Thursday, 14th May 2020, the government of TN announced that the deadline for annual/quarterly tax payment under the Motor Vehicles Act, 1974 has been extended till 30th of June. It must be noted that the CM of TN had issued orders to this effect. It was mentioned by the official release that there would not be any fine.
The lock down to avoid the spread of Covid-19 infection created difficulties in the payment of annual/ quarterly tax by the owners of buses, trucks and contract vehicles among others. Enacted by the parliament of India, Motor Vehicles Act is an act that regulates all the aspects of road transport vehicles.
