Corona virus cases increasing in Coimbatore now

The Coimbatore district administration officials are disappointed now!!
Few days back, Coimbatore district was declared as orange zone. The news that has come out now is Covid-19 cases have started to increase in Coimbatore. On Sunday, 3rd May 2020, Coimbatore recorded 4 Corona virus positive cases and this after the health department was starting to breathe easy after the sharp decline in the infections.
It is important to note that Coimbatore also recorded its first Corona virus death as a Kavundampalayam based 44 year old man admitted to RGGGH in Chennai for his cancer treatment died. In Coimbatore, as many as 3 members belonging to a family tested positive for Corona virus infection. A member of this family was isolated as a precautionary step inspite of testing negative. Few days back, this family approached the district administration for getting permission to travel to Kerala and they were asked to produce Corona virus negative certificate.
Saramedu based 31 year old pregnant woman also tested positive for Corona virus infection when she visited a private hospitals for her delivery. These 4 persons who were asymptomatic were shifted to ESI Hospital and their contact members were identified and tested. The source of infection was not known and this was as per the health department officials. It must be noted that the residential places Baba Street and Saramedu were declared as containment zones and sealed to prevent the spread of infection. The total number of Covid-19 positive cases has increased to 146 in Coimbatore now.
