Posted on: 04/May/2020 9:58:31 AM
Chennai city has got as many as 747 marriage halls. The GCC or Greater Chennai Corporation has ordered the owners of the marriage halls in Chennai to hand over their facilities to the civic body. The reason for this was to increase the number of Covid-19 care centers in the Chennai city.

It was brought out by Chennai Corporation commissioner Mr, G. Prakash that orders were given to the respective administrations under the Disaster Management Act. He explained about how the civic body is having plans to create 50,000 bed spaces to treat asymptomatic Covid-19 patients. By having proper rest, the asymptomatic patients would be able to get back to normal. Intensive medical care would not be needed for the asymptomatic patients.

For providing care to the Covid-19 critically affected patients, asymptomatic patients would be shifted to Covid-19 care centers. Important point is in Chennai now there are 95 percent asymptomatic cases. The Chennai Corporation commissioner later mentioned about how on Sunday, 3rd May 2020, 4000 beds were readied and how the department of health has already shifted some asymptomatic patients to D.G. Vaishnava College, Chennai. It must be taken into account that a Covid care center has been created in this college.
