Additional DGP: Issuing passes for travel to other places to be reduced!

The Additional DGP of the Department of Law and Order, Jayanth Murali had an interview with the press at the Chennai Vepery Office of the Police Commissioner. He shared:
From 24th March until yesterday (Monday, 13th April), 163477 cases have been registered in violation of lockdown imposition. 1,75,635 persons have been arrested. Further, 139008 vehicles have been confiscated from them. A total penalty of Rs. 68,57,344 has been collected.
We are set to take the initiative to reduce the issue of passes to travel to other districts/states. In some places, passes are being issued for unnecessary reasons. This will be reduced. As practiced in some districts already, we are arranging to distribute to color masks in other districts.
The details/statistic of the number of foreigners is with the statistics/revenue department. The Police Department does not have it.
