The state government of Tamil Nadu has explained that there are no blocks from the government for self-volunteer to help the poor people. Only the guidelines for the same have been revised.

The news was released mentioning that the state government of Tamil Nadu has banned the direct distribution of essential items including food offered to the poor people by the various political parties, Service organizations, and self-volunteers. In this state of affairs, the state government of Tamil Nadu has come up with an explanation. The notification mentions:

“There is no ban on self-volunteers to help poor people. The government does not ban self-volunteers from helping. Only the guidelines for helping the poor have changed.

If they approach the Revenue officials, arrangements will be made to help the poor in the areas specified by them. This revision has been made with the main objective of preventing the raging coronavirus pandemic spread!

If the self-volunteers come forward to help just as they do during major natural disasters, this may pave the way for the coronavirus infection to spread.

This new guideline is to ensure protection from infection fort eh self-volunteers and the public! These self-volunteers can help jointly with the district administration after obtaining permission from the district collector for the same. This guideline is to be followed just as a precaution against infection.

58000 persons have already registered to help senior citizens and destitute persons.

The registration can be made by visiting the website: www.stopcorona.tn.gov.in.

Then, join the state government and self-volunteers can help the poor thus!”
