Home delivery of vegetables and fruits is highly successful says Koyambedu traders

Every day, 15 to 20 tonnes of vegetables and fruits are being delivered to the homes of the residents of Chennai. It is now revealed that this move by Chennai Metropolitan Development Authority or CMDA to home deliver has become highly successful.
On Sunday itself the traders and CMDA have delivered as many as 20 tonnes. It was mentioned by some sources that these vegetables and fruits were delivered through own vehicles and for the bulk orders that have packages for 25 families. In addition to this, smaller packages were delivered through food delivery firms like Zomato, Swiggy etc.
For gated communities and for the resident welfare associations, CMDA and Market Management Committee have decided to introduce bulk combo packs. It was pointed out by a trader that initially supply was done for 25 families only and from Sunday onwards bulk orders have been taken without any limit on the number of families.
The trader then highlighted about how the gated communities having more than 500 families could also order online and how separate packs with 16 vegetables could be sent and how it would be sufficient for a family for 1 week. Important information is on Sunday 7.6 tonnes of veggies were delivered tO the gated communities.
