In TN, people with flu symptoms would be tested by rapid test kits

Anytime, TN would be receiving as many as 5000 rapid test kits and those with flu symptoms would be tested at various clinics and hospitals in the state of TN.
As per an official belonging to the health department it is very clear that all symptomatic persons would be tested using antibody rapid testing kits and they would be put under home quarantine for a time of 14 days to check exposure to the virus. By this process, it would be possible to identify more positive Corona virus cases at early stage itself.
Testing protocol would be followed and according to the protocol if anti body test results are negative then real time RT-PCR test would be carried out only if required. This would be based on the symptoms. It must be noted that when not needed then RT-PCR test would not be carried out but the person would be quarantined at home.
After 10 days of last rapid test and if tested positive, a repeat antibody test would be done. It was mentioned by the official that the patient would be kept under home quarantine for another 10 days as it would indicate the risk of infection and clinical treatment would be given at the hospital.
Important information collected is if the antibody result turns out to be positive then the person would be taken for treatment in a hospital after clinical assessment. Later, he or she would be kept under isolation as per protocol.
