As many as 1973 residents of Chennai show Corona symptoms

There are many Covid-19 containment blocks in Chennai city now.
It is now revealed that the Chennai Corporation had identified as many as 1973 residents having Corona virus symptoms in the containment blocks across Chennai city. For the next 2 weeks, these residents showing symptoms would be monitored and this was according to Chennai Corporation Commissioner Mr. G. Prakash.
Point is over 85 percent of the households were covered in the survey for Covid-19 symptoms. As per the survey results, 1973 cases show all types of symptoms like fever etc in the last few days.
It was brought out that as many as 1312 residents did not show any symptom and they were ruled out as clear cases. It is important to mention here that 661 persons are being followed up. Mr. G. Prakash threw light on how for the next few weeks all the 1973 residents would be under the radar and would be monitored closely.
The information is civic body has earmarked 12,204 containment blocks with 100 houses each and 11,838 workers recruited for the survey. In places such as Anna Nagar, Teynampet, Tiruvottriyur, Tondiarpet and Royapuram etc, the number of persons with symptoms were found to be higher.
As many as 9.18 lakh houses have been covered by the workers out of total of 10.7 lakh houses in 15 ones in the Chennai city. The residents have been providing the data to these workers is known. In this week, more workers would be recruited by the Corporation and these workers would visit houses to collect data.
