Tamil Nadu Government: Guidelines for isolated persons to follow!

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister E. Palaniswamy conducted a review/consultation meeting regarding the status of the various preventive activities undertaken by the state government against the raging coronavirus with the 12-members coordination Group.

After the meeting, the Chief Minister had a session with the press and shared:

‘The preventive activities against the raging coronavirus pandemic spread is functioning excellently well and is in progress! A decision regarding the extension or the conclusion of the lockdown situation can be taken only after truly ascertaining and assessing the status of the coronavirus pandemic.

As it is an infectious disease, there has been an increase in the number of patients each passing day! As at present, the coronavirus is still in Phase-2 only in the state of Tamil Nadu. As such, the state government of Tamil Nadu is making utmost efforts to contain it at the present Phase-2 itself.’

Meanwhile, the state government of Tamil Nadu has released the guidelines for the persons kept in isolation at their residences to follow! Here is the list:
  • Allot a well-ventilated room with attached bath/toilet for the isolated person.
  • All the rest of the persons in the family MUST wear facial masks.
  • The isolated person should NOT move us - he/she must remain in the allotted room without venturing out!
  • Those who do maintenance work MUST WEAR gloves and facial masks!
  • Others MUST NOT use the items used by the isolated person.
  • The clothes/bedspreads, etc., used by the isolated person, MUST BE WASHED SEPARATELY and dried separately.
  • Immediately after removing the gloves and the facial mask, one must wash the hands thoroughly with soap.
  • Senior citizens, pregnant women, and children MUST NOT HAVE ANY CONTACT with the isolated person.
  • Note that those who had remained in contact with isolated person MUST ALSO BE ISOLATED FOR 28 days!
  • Wash the house at least thrice daily with disinfectants!
  • In case the isolated person has cold or fever, contact: 104 or 1800 120 555550.
