Greater Chennai Corporation (GCC) has discussed with Tamil Nadu Traders’ Association in the meeting held at the Ripon Building on 7th April 2020 on the supply of essential needs to the residents of the Chennai Metro City to set up fair-price mobile markets across the city on 5000 tricycles and 2000 small motor vehicles.
The traders, who operate these markets, will wear masks, gloves, etc., during the sale of goods. On behalf of GCC, such traders will be placed on their vehicles and special vehicle passes will be issued to those vehicles to help them in procuring and transporting essentials.
This step has been implemented to help the public in getting all their essentials while staying at home. GCC requests the citizens of Chennai to utilize these and stay home to protect yourself and your families from COVID-19!
