Provident Subscribers can make corrections in their personal data!

Permission has been granted to the Provident Subscribers in the EPFO Employees’ Provident Fund Organization) offices.
A notification released by the EPFO in this regard:
During the present crisis times of the coronavirus pandemic and associated preventive measures, the Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation has been facilitating various services online!
In this respect, permission has been granted to the Provident Subscribers or Account Holders in EPFO to carry out corrections in their personal data kept in their offices - for example, correcting the spelling of the name of the Date of Birth. The easy part of this exercise is that it can be done online!
The corrections, if required, can be made through using the UAN of EPFO (Unique Account Number) and the KYC number of the Bank (Employees Bank Account) and correction can be carried out online!
Please note that the Date of Birth as entered in the Aadhar card only would be valid.
The field officers have been instructed to give immediate permissions for the correction requests made online.
Further, during this stressful period of coronavirus lockdown, this facility would be helpful to withdraw some part of the Provident Fund accrued to overcome the financial shortage.
