By-election for 2 Assembly constituencies in Tamil Nadu on 21st October

The Chief Election Commissioner Sunil Arora has announced that the Legislative Assembly Elections in the 2 states of Maharashtra and Haryana would be conducted in a single phase on 21st October.
On the same date (21st October), by-elections are also scheduled to be conducted for a total of 64 seats vacant in various state legislative assemblies including the 2 legislative assembly constituencies of Nanguneri and Vikravandi in Tamil Nadu.
The time schedule for the by-election for 64 state legislative assembly constituencies:
- Filing nomination commences on 23rd September.
- The nomination filing concludes on 30th September.
- Scrutiny of filed nominations is on 1st October.
- The last date for withdrawing nomination is 21st October.
- Counting of votes is scheduled on 24th October.
