The Vellore parliamentary constituency consists of 6 Legislative Assembly constituencies - Vellore, Katpadi, Gudiyatham, Peranampattu, Anaikkattu (Dam), and Aarani. There are 14.32 Lakhs voters. Hectic campaigning for the contestants has been in progress in Vellore indulged by AIADMK, DMK, and Naam Thamizhar. Especially, there was hard hectic campaigning carried out by DMK and AIADMK.

Today being the Election Day (Monday, 5th August), heavy security arrangements have been made throughout the Vellore parliamentary constituency. The Election Commission officials shared that there has been heavy security arrangements in order to ensure that there are no untoward incidents.

The votes polled today will be counted on 9th August and the results are to be announced by the night.
