5 Phased training for teachers

The Tamil Nadu state minister for school education, K. A. Sengottaiyan, informed that the government order for the removal of the weightage system currently in use for the recruitment of teachers.

The minister had inaugurated a private coaching centre for IAS in Chennai yesterday (Monday, 16th July). He explained that no oppositions party has taken up any criticism of the functioning of the department of education. Several new plans are being implemented in school education.

IAS academies will be set up on behalf of the state government throughout the state of Tamil Nadu in all the 32 districts. A fund of Rs. 2.17 Crores has been allotted for setting up these coaching centers. The plan is to be shortly inaugurated by the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, E. Palanisamy.

10000 candidates will be given coaching for writing the examinations for C. A. (Chartered accountancy). In order that the state of Tamil Nadu should be the prominent and shining leader in the all-important sector of education, several plans are being implemented.

12 new lessons are to be added in the new syllabus to facilitate the skill development of the school students. The state government acknowledges with thanks the recent appreciation by the Tamil film superstar Rajinikanth appreciating the various activities of the state education department.

The verification of certificates will be completed for the recruitment of special teachers (music, drawing. Physical education, etc.) will be completed and the counselling sessions will be conducted within the next 20 days.

The present system of adapting the ‘weightage system’ as the base of recruitment of teachers who have passed TET (Teachers Eligibility Test) is to be cancelled. The related government order will be released shortly.

82000 candidates who have passed TET are on the waiting list for appointments. The avenue of conducting another special test and the recruit the successful candidates are being explored.

1 Lakh teachers will be trained in 5 Phases before the end of July for the implementation and following the new syllabus.
