Chennai - Coimbatore vehicle freight services courtesy Postal Department

A new goods vehicle freight services facility has been started on behalf of the Tamil Nadu Postal Department to consumer durable products between Chennai and Coimbatore.
This new facility can be availed by individuals also apart from the agencies and companies. The public can now avail this service to dispatch the house consumer durable products, vehicles, etc., as parcels.
An individual shifting house from one place to another can also avail this service to send all the material while vacating the present residence to the new residence.
The goods vehicle freight service can be availed for both the routes – Chennai to Coimbatore as well as Coimbatore to Chennai. Further, materials can be sent to places on this route – Chengalpet, Tindivanam, Villupuram, Salem, Bhavani, and Avinasi.
The minimum weight of the goods booked should be 15 kg.
Persons interested in sending goods through this facility have to contact the respective district Headquarters of the Postal Department for registration and the details of the cost.
The Chief Post Master General, Tamil Nadu Circle, M. Sampath, informed the following the introduction of this new facility in Chennai - Coimbatore sector, a decision has been taken to introduce similar goods vehicle freight services in the Chennai - Madurai and Chennai - Bengaluru sectors.
