Daily allowance during LTC holidays cut for the central government employees

Posted on: 22/Sep/2017 12:39:43 PM
The central government has announced that the daily allowance for the employees will be cut when availing the LTC (Leave Travel Concession) period.

As per the salary structure of the central government employees, LTC is offered for them to enjoy a holiday tour along with their families. While availing LTC, the central government employees will be given full pay during the travel holidays. The train fare for the entire family is reimbursed. In this situation, the 7th Wages Review Commission made certain recommendations on LTC.  The central government has accepted this and accordingly, the Department of Employees and administration Reform has released an order.

This order states that the daily allowance for the central government employees will not be paid during the period when LTC is availed. Further, incidental expenses and local travelling expenses will not be reimbursed. Only Suvidha Train fare expenses and Tatkal reservation expenses will be reimbursed.  Depending on the purpose of travel, the expenses will be reimbursed.

Further, the travel expenses incurred only while travelling on state or central government transport arrangements. In case LTC is availed to visit places where these are not available, the expense for the 1st 100 km travel only will be reimbursed. These new order/rules will be implemented with effect from 1st July.
