500 Generic medicine Pharmaceutical centres to be set up in Tamil Nadu

The Union Minister of Chemicals and Fertilizers Mr Ananth Kumar, informed that 500 new Generic Medicine selling pharmaceutical centres will be set up in Tamil Nadu.

The Vice President of India, Mr Venkaiah Naidu, inaugurated and addressed on the occasion of the commencement of the event, We will take the oath for the creation of New India, which was conducted in Anna University. This event was jointly organised by the Directorate of Advertisements and exhibitions functioning under the Central Ministry of Information and Broadcasting and the central Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs.

The Governor of Tamil Nadu. Vidyasagar Rao, and the central minister Ananth Kumar and the ministers of the state of Tamil Nadu, D, Jayakumar and K. P. Anbazhagan participated and addressed the gathering.

In his address, the central minister Ananth Kumar informed that 500 new Generic Medicine selling pharmaceutical centres will be set up in Tamil Nadu. Medicines for a variety of diseases will be sold in these shops at reasonably lower prices.

2240 Generic Medicine centres were opened during the last year. More centres will set up in the country. He further informed that a Central government Pharmaceutical Education and Research Institute will be set up in Madurai. A detailed plan has already been prepared for this. This institute will be on par with the other central government educational institutions such as IITs and IIMs,

The number of seats available in the central Plastic Engineering and Technology Institute will be increased to 3000.  Presently, 1200 seats are available. The main reason for the increase in the seats as there is an increasing worldwide demand for plastic-related technology.

The Madras Fertiliser Corporation in Chennai will be developed into the best quality company manufacturing fertilizers and chemicals. The central government will initiate actions and discussions with the senior officials of the company to study the issues/problems and take corrective actions. With this, the Madras Fertilisers Corporation will develop into a profitable and extended growing company.

In his address, the Tamil Nadu State Minister D. Jayakumar informed that indomitable efforts will be taken to create new India without poverty, corruption, and illiteracy. The late Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Jayalalithaa was instrumental in creating the visionary project -  The Vision 2023 – in Tamil Nadu as a precursor to this New India Project. In this respect, the state government of Tamil Nadu has already been implementing various programmes for the Mission New India. We will undertake the oath to convert this into reality.

In his address, the minister K. P. Anbazhhagan informed that 65 new colleges have been started in the last 5 years. In the academic year 2017-18 alone, 11 Arts and Science Colleges have been started. The minister informed that Tamil Nadu leads in the number of persons engaged in research.

The secretary of the Parliamentary Affairs Rajiv Yadav, and among the Chief Secretaries of the Higher Education Department of Tamil Nadu State Government, Mr Paliwal and the Commissioner of the Directorate of technical education, Mr Rajendra Rathnu, participated in this event.
