New Rs. 200 currency notes to be released next month

The Reserve Bank of India has decided to release new currency notes of Rs. 200 denomination following the printing of Rs. 2000 currency notes.
RBI informed that the printing work has been completed and the new Rs. 200 currency notes will be released next month.
A senior official from the central government department of investment and currency explained that during the 1st phase, the printing of new Rs. 200 currency notes commenced in June. This was completed in 21 days. So, everything is set to release these new notes by next month.
Further, activities have been initiated to print more currency notes of Rs. 500. The official informed that it can be expected that the acute shortage of currency notes will come down after the release of the new Rs. 200 currency notes.
