How to get duplicate Aadhar card?

There are multiple usage of Aadhar card. Losing it may cause several troubles and because it contains a lot of personal information, it may be worrisome to lose the card.
There is however nothing to worry. There is a procedure to get a duplicate copy of Aadhar online. If you have the right mobile number and email id registered for Aadhar, things are easier when it comes to applying for duplicate one.
Procedure to apply for a duplicate Aadhar:
Go to the official UIDAI website www.uidai.gov.in, Here, the duplicate copy of Aadhar is available. Click on Aadhar online service and go to Aadhar enrollment. There is an option called Retrieve lost UID or EID. Click on it and this will take you to a new page. Enter the needed details like name, mail id, mobile number, etc. You should also choose the Aadhar Number or Enrolment Number that you want to retrieve.
Once these details are filled, enter the security number and feed the Second Time Password. You will get an OTP to the mobile number registered or mail id. Feed the OTP for confirming verification.
After verification, you will get Aadhar number or enrolment ID to your registered phone number of mail id. From here, you can download Aadhar card and this will take you to another page. Enter the Aadhar number of enrollment ID, name, pin code and address.
And fill the required fields. You will get an option for one time password. You will then receive an OTP to the registered mobile number or mail id. Feed it and get the e-Aadhar card downloaded to your PC.
This will be a password protected PDF. Enter the password for opening it which is the pin code of your residential address.
