Tata Motors cuts price of passenger vehicles by 12 percent

All the passenger vehicles are reduced in price, says an announcement by automaker Tata Motors. The price reduction is of the range Rs 2.17 lakh which is to pass on the GST benefit to customers.
After introducing GST, Tata motors has come forward to pass on the benefit to customers. So, we are bringing 12 percent reduction in price of the range Rs 3,300 to Rs 2,17,000 based on the vehicle model and variant, said the President of Tata Motors, Passenger Vehicles Business Unit, Mayank Pareek.
We completely welcome the initiative made by the Union government to set up GST and standardizing all tax forms across India, he added. With this, there will be ease of doing business, and user in new method of economy, particularly for the automotive industry.
To note, Mahindra and Mahindra had announced price reduction of its utility vehicles and SUVs by 6.9 percent. Likewise, price of small commercial vehicles are also reduced.
