The amount of the insurance policy premium for vehicles insurance coverage was increased on 28th March. This action met with a strong protest from several fronts. As a result, the 3rd party insurance policy premium for motor vehicles has come down again. The premium for the commercial vehicle 3rd party cover has come down considerably.

The Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI) had announced on 28th March increasing the insurance policy premium for motor vehicles for the current financial year 2017-18.
