RTE process to be fully made online

The school education department is trying to make the complete process of Right to Education Act completely online. It had recently announced dates for online applications for RTE. Addressing the press, the secretary of school education, T. Udhayachandran said those who approach the centres with hard copies of application will be guided on uploading applications online at more than 10,000 e-seva centres functional at different parts of the state, and also at the other facilities made by the department.
As a move to prevent hassles with online application uploading, particularly in rural regions, cluster resource centres will be set up for every 5-10 villages. In these centres, students or parents can submit the application for RTE.
These centres also have data entry operators to guide parents and students in the process without any extra charge. All schools are requested to assist parents in uploading online applications, said education secretary.
Students are free to upload applications at chief education officer, district education officer, inspector of matriculation schools, or elementary education officers free of cost. Once the application process is done, an SMS will be sent to the registered mobile number of parents.
