Minister M. Manikandan gave reply to an argument on subsidy for Information Technology during assembly yesterday.
Tamil Nadu is a state rich in technology with a number of multinational companies, inventions. We also need to make the state enhanced and equipped with rich human resources all of whom can be appointed immediately. On the basis of analysis made on the needs for information technology, Information and Communications Technology in Chennai (ITC Chennai) has initiated a job skill development framework. Accordingly, candidates who get trained under this training program can easily find a job in Information Technology industry. This is a 150 hour session where students from villages, adi-dravida, scheduled tribes, and other background classes will be given priority. The Tamil Nadu Skill Development Corporation will bear with all the expenses for this training.
Targeting to collect all address information quicker, digital numbers will be provided. Digital signature is one that people can sign on documents in computers. With this, it will be possible to enjoy all government schemes even without smart cards or USB. In the past five years, a total of 2,368 new Information Technology companies have emerged in Tamil Nadu. In 2015-16, the overall software export has raised up to Rs 98,117 crore. Laptops are distributed to about 32,35,894 government school students at a cost of Rs 4,893 crore. And the Chief Minister has ordered distribution of 5,36,514 laptops in the year 2016-17.
The Tamil Nadu Arasu Cable TV Corporation which has 70,52,000 consumers in 2015-16 saw a profit of about Rs 32,60,00,000. In this ongoing year 2016, the maximum number of Aadhar cards are distributed.
