The central government has decided to stop the system of recruitment by walk-in interviews for junior-level employment. This will be effective from 1st January, 2016.
The central government has issued strict instructions accordingly to the department of central government recruitment & training and other departments and also the various ministries and public sector enterprises.
The relevant circular issued by the central government employee recruitment & training department mentions that in future, all advertisements should be without any mention about walk-in interviews. This condition will be applicable for all Group C , all unregistered category under Group B and other equivalent posts.
However, skill tests and medical/physical check-up procedures will continue. And these will be based on the eligibility after selection. These tests will not be based on marks.
If any department insists that walk-in interviews are required, they will have send a request letter signed by the concerned central minister`s signature to the Central government recruitment and training department for approval.
All ministry offices ave been advised to send their response before 7th January.
