482 Openings with SAIL

482 candidates are to be recruited for Technician position with the Steel Authority of India. Diploma, Engineering or ITI graduates are eligible to apply for the position. Below are the details:
Steel Authority of India shortly called as SAIL has its presence across India including Tamil Nadu. Now, announcements were made to fill in positions with SAIL at Chhattisgarh for Attendant cum Technician and Operator cum Technician. On the whole, there are 482 vacancies as of now. Out of this 192 vacancies are for accountant cum technician position, 283 positions with operator cum technician, and 7 with boiler operation.
Eligibility criteria for applying for this position are:
Age limit:
As of 9th of September 2015, the maximum age of applicant should be below 28. Age relaxation of 3 and 5 years will be given to OBC and SC or ST applicants. Physically challenged can have age relaxation up to 10 years.
Educational qualification:
For attendant and technician position, those who have completed 10th grade and done their ITI can apply. They should hold work experience of one year. For operator cum technician position and boiler operation position, the applicant should have completed 10th standard with a three year diploma or engineering. They should hold at least 50 percent score in their academics in these studies. The vacancies are present with engineering divisions including mechanical, electrical, metallurgy, civil, communication, and instrumentation, and ITI divisions including fitter, electrician, welder, mechanic, diesel mechanic, and turner.
Selection procedure:
Selection will take place through written test and face to face interview. For few positions, a driving test will also be conducted.
Application fees:
A fees of Rs 250 is to be paid for applying for operator cum technician position for General and OBC category people. A fees of Rs 150 need to be paid for attendant cum technician positions for General and OBC category people. Those belonging to SC, ST or physically challenged, or sons or daughters of ex-servicemen need not pay any fees.
