Ingredients:
- Wheat Flour – 1 cup
- Onion – 1 nos
- Besan/ Gram Flour – 5 spoon
- Turmeric powder – ¼ spoon
- Sambar Powder – ½ spoon
- Amchur Powder – ½ spoon (Optional)
- Fennel seeds – 1 spoon
- Oil – 5 to 10 spoons
- Salt – To taste
- Ghee – 2 spoon
Method:
Outer Dough:
- Add water and salt to the wheat flour and knead to a dough. Finally add a spoon of oil on top of it. Close its lid and set it aside for half an hour.
Inner Filling:
- Chop onions finely. Take a mixing bowl and add the chopped onion, Besan flour, turmeric powder, sambar powder, Amchur powder, fennel seed powder and finally salt and mix well.
- Add 2 to 3 spoons of oil to this mix and blend well. Now the inner filling is ready.
Preparation for Paratha:
- Divide the kneaded wheat dough into small balls.
- Roll each balls into a small circle.
- Place 2 spoons of onion mixture on top of it and close it.
- On a floured surface, again roll the stuffed ball into a circle.
- Heat the tawa and roast the Paratha on both sides by sprinkling oil and a little quantity of ghee.
- Now the Onion Besan Paratha is ready and serve it hot with either raitha or pickle!
Note:
- As Besan flour has high nutrient values, it is nice to give it to the children.
- Besan flour has high ratio of Vitamin B6 and thiamine, it is always recommended for the pregnant ladies to consume it more.
- This dish is rich in protein content and has high nutritive value.
- Besan flour helps in maintaining good and healthy heart.
