Delay in the Aavin milk distribution in many localities in Chennai - What happened?
The residents belonging to north and central Chennai were unhappy yesterday as there was a delay in the Aavin milk distribution. The reason for this was due to lack of milk procurement.
It is known that through the Aavin Company 14.2l of milk gets sold in Chennai. At the Ambattur dairy, 4.2lakh litres of milk are produced. Likewise, in the Madhavaram dairy 4.50lakh litres of milk are produced. Point to be noted is that milk inflow from outside districts to these farms decreased and production of milk packets got affected. As a result, milk that was supposed to be available for milk agents in Chennai from 2:30 pm in the early morning was available only from 7am.
In many localities like Ayanavaram, Villivakkam, Korattur, Madhavaram, Perambur, Otteri and in localities like Anna Nagar, Thirumangalm, Mogappair, Arumbakkam, Purasawalkam etc. It was confirmed by some milk agents that the supply of Aavin milk was delayed in the north and central parts of Chennai.
