25 Year Old Sreeja Akula - Meet Indias New Number One Table Tennis Player
Manika Bhatra has been number one player in table tennis for India. Now, the surprising piece of news that has come out is that Sreeja Akula has become the new number one table tennis player in India.
After rising to a career high rank of 38 in the latest ITTF chart, Sreeja Akula has now replaced Makika Bhatra as the new number one player in table tennis. In the latest update, Manika Bhatra has now gone down 2 places to 39.
It must be recalled that the 25 year old Sreeja won the WTC Feeder Corpus Christi in the month of January in 2024. She also won the WTC Feeder Beirut title in March this year. In addition to these, she also reached the quarterfinals of WTT Star Contender in Goa.
In the Commonwealth Games that took place in the year 2022, Sreeja turned many heads when she won the mixed doubles Gold medal with Sharath Kamal. It is now mentioned that Sreeja from Telangana would be trying her best in the upcoming Paris Olympics 2024.
