Chennai Egmore Railway Station Renovation: Temporary Ticket Center Relocated to RPF Office Complex!

Posted on: 16/May/2024 6:31:45 PM

The relocation of the Ticket Registration Center at Chennai Egmore Railway Station due to ongoing renovations is certainly a significant update. The shift to the RPF office complex along Poonamallee Road provides a temporary solution while the renovation project progresses. It`s notable that the renovation project, with a substantial budget of Rs 735 crore, has been underway since February last year and is making swift progress.

The demolition of railway quarters near Gandhi Irwin Road and adjacent railway offices reflects the comprehensive nature of the renovation, which encompasses various aspects including station buildings and parking facilities. With the relocation of the electric train ticket registration center to the Egmore RPF office premises, commuters can still access essential services during this transitional period.

The new ticket registration center at the RPF office on Poonamallee Road, equipped with three counters each for reservation and unreserved tickets, ensures that the needs of passengers are accommodated. With a staff of 15 employees working on an 8-hour shift basis, the center aims to maintain efficiency and provide seamless service despite the temporary relocation. This update showcases the proactive measures taken by Chennai Railway Division officials to mitigate inconvenience to passengers during the renovation process.
