It is now said that the concourse of the Madhavaram metro station would be on the street level with tunnels and platforms right below. Point is that the commuters would walk directly into the concourse. At 6.9metres or 23 feet below the ground level, the metro station at Madhavaram would be the shallowest one in Chennai.

The metro station at Nandanam in Chennai would be the deepest one at 30metres or 100 feet below the ground. It must be noted that the Madhavaram depot metro is a part of 47m corridor-5 from Madhavaram to Sholinganallur.

According to an officer from CMRL it was clear that  Madhavaram depot station would be the shallow underground station that is located at a  distance of 1.1m from Madhavaram depot. He hinted that the concourse or the ticketing level would be at the street level. In Alandur also, the concourse is at the street level. It is now said that the commuters entering the Madhavaram depot need not walk down the stairs to reach the ticketing level.

As the platforms would be a few feet below the ground, the commuters would have to take an elevator or escalator or walk down stairs to reach the platforms. Information collected is that Madhavaram depot station would have Madhavaram milk colony metro station and Assisi nagar metro stations on either side. Madhavaram milk colony metro station would be an underground one whereas Assisi Nagar metro station would be an elevated one.
