Passengers traveling between Chennai and Bengaluru will face significant disruptions as Indian Railways has announced changes in train operations from May 29 to July 7. The disruption is due to yard remodeling works at Bengaluru Cantonment and Whitefield railway stations.

During this period, more than 10 trains operating on the Chennai–Bengaluru and Chennai–Mysuru routes will be either cancelled, delayed, or diverted.

Several major trains, including the Chennai Central–Ashokapuram Kaveri Express, Chennai–Bengaluru Superfast Mail, Yeshwantpur–Chennai Express, and Mysuru-Chennai Superfast Express, will be fully cancelled on selected dates between June 3 and July 7. In addition, MEMU services between Bengaluru and Jolarpettai will also remain suspended.

Apart from cancellations, certain trains will experience delays ranging from 30 minutes to 3 hours on specific dates such as May 29, June 2, 7, 19, 23, and July 3. Key trains affected by delays include the Mysuru–Renigunta Superfast Express, SMVT Bengaluru–New Tinsukia Express, and Hatia–Bengaluru Express.

Long-distance trains will also be diverted via alternate routes, skipping important stations like Katpadi, Jolarpettai, Renigunta, Arakkonam, and Perambur. Trains such as the Mysuru-Howrah Express, SMVT Bengaluru–Guwahati Express, Dadar-Puducherry Express, and Ernakulam–Bengaluru Vande Bharat Express will not halt at these stations during the disruption period.

Passengers are strongly advised to check their train status in advance, plan alternative travel arrangements if necessary, and stay updated with official railway announcements to avoid inconvenience.
