Facelift for all labs in TN govt colleges - Students can design experiments to solve real world issues!!
For the past 2 decades, lab experiments in the arts and sciences colleges across TN have not been updated!! Shocking right!!
In future, studying in government arts and science colleges across TN would be a huge delight for the science students. The laboratories or labs present in the TN govt arts and sciences colleges would be renovated with an updated curriculum. It is said that the students would be encouraged to design new experiments to provide a solution to real world issues from the next academic year. The TN govt has allocated Rs 61 cr for upgrading the labs in the TN govt arts and sciences colleges.
It is known that the labs present in the govt colleges in TN have been neglected for many decades. Point is that the TN State Council for Higher Education has now devised an action plan to address the problems faced by them.
According to a source from the Higher Education department, to match the latest developments, the lab curriculum would be modified. Lab based pedagogical training would be provided to the teachers. The source added that the students would also be encouraged to develop their own experiments to solve real world based problems. More importance would be given for lab experiments, good lab practices would be implemented also plus lab safety, lab records would be maintained well.
It is important to note that at present the lab experiments are unable to stimulate any interest in science for students. The source concluded that the experts would play a important role by suggesting various reforms that would be needed in eh curriculum plus assessment for east state university
The superb piece of information is that the revised curriculum would give better understanding of the concepts of science subjects. Admissions to PG courses would increase by this.
