Important news regarding higher secondary exams - New order from DGE to all TN district CEOs

Posted on: 08/Oct/2022 5:54:11 PM
All district Chief Education Officers or CEOs have been ordered by the Directorate of Government Examinations or DGE to get proposals from the schools in TN before 27th October. The objective behind this was to set up new centres for the higher secondary examinations.

For the students travelling more than 10kms to write the exams, new centres are being created in all the government schools across TN in the academic years 2022-23. This was mentioned in the circular from the Directorate of Government Examinations. It is learnt that the joint director has insisted the CEOs to inspect all the schools named in the proposal. If any official was unable to find  new centres then a report on that must be sent compulsorily.

The circular added that if ineligible schools were sent to the DGE then the concerned official would have to face action. It is noteworthy that those schools that were allowed to act as the higher secondary examination centres in 2022 could reapply if they still meet the required criteria by the Directorate. In case any higher secondary examination centres needed to be cancelled, then the CEOs have been asked to send reports on the centres along with the reasons and details of the centres operating as per the order of the High Court.
