The Coronavirus pandemic has been responsible for halting many activities in Chennai and across Tamil Nadu. Now, with Coronavirus under control and resumption of normalcy, the foreign exchange programmes of students belonging to various universities have begun well. Foreign exchange programmes are available in more than 70% of state owned universities like Anna University and in many self-financing colleges in TN etc.

A MoU has been signed between Politechnico Di Milano, Italy and AU or Anna University, Chennai, India. A semester programme is being offered for the students this year based on the MoU. Those students who are interested could apply for this programme and this was according to an official from Anna University. This year, University of Tours, France and AU has also offered an exchange programme for the interested students.

It is important to note that the Centre for International Relations in the university plays a huge role in arranging all the exchange programmes for the students. Japan based Nagoya Institute of Technology in this year would be providing the International Graduate Engineers Programme for Global Engineers 2022 for the students.

As many as 10 students from countries like Sri Lanka, Kenya, South Africa and Bangladesh etc have been admitted for several exchange programmes under the ICCR or Indian Council for Cultural Relations, New Delhi. This was according to some sources from the state owned Alagappa University.

Point is that now more students would be enrolling for the exchange programmes and this was according to the responses from the overseas students.
